Now faith is confidence in what we hope for
and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
You will only be, do, and have what you intend to be, do, and have. So, your intention is the only vehicle that will take you to your highest and best self—the self that is always expanding, growing, moving higher and higher internally, so that your internal expansion manifests itself externally. What you achieve externally can never be more than what you have achieved internally.
If you are shallow, mean,
unloving and unforgiving on the inside, everything you achieve outside will
eventually crumble and come to ruin. Your measure as a person is who you are inside
of yourself, not whom you appear to be to other people.
This means that you must first
think yourself to become your highest and best self. That is, you must mentally
and spiritually intend to be your highest and best self and persist in your
intention. This is the essence of the Law of Cause and Effect. There is a
cause—a moving invisible force—that creates every visible effect. And one of
the most powerful invisible forces is your persistent intention.
If you talk to anyone who has
grown internally and achieved much externally, they will tell you that it was
their intention that drove them forward. Now, intention is not the only
invisible power that you need in life, but it is the foundation upon which your
personal expansion must be built.
Intention is your unwavering
determination to be, do, have, achieve, or create something. But intention, by
itself, is not nearly enough. Persistence must be joined to your intention to
make it work. Persistence is overcoming the voices in your own head—and the
external voices of your friends and family—that tell you that you are crazy to believe that
you can be, do, and have everything you were created to be, do, and have.
Faith is the spiritual
embodiment of the dream you have for yourself. It is the dream in your mind
that exists in spiritual formation that you intend to make real in the material
world. If you have no dream, you have no faith. And if you have no faith, you
are doomed to be at the mercy of others until you do the work of creating a
dream for yourself that will guide you to control your own destiny.
That is why it is vitally
important to discover what you actually want in life and then make the decision
to take action to get it. Your decision to go after what you want is evidence
that you have faith. The long and short of it is that without faith—without a
dream or desire to be, do, or create something that is good—you will achieve nothing
and create nothing.
The power of faith is so great
that without it nothing is possible for you. Without a dream that is yours, you
will live an unfulfilled, boring, and meaningless life of servitude to others
in order to get food to eat and a place to live.
But if you spend the time necessary to discover what you most desire in life—your dream of the ideal life that would make you happy—then you will be full of faith, you will be filled with intention, and you will be on the path to personal transformation, expansion, and evolution.
