Thought and Feeling: Necessary Siamese Twins

 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  John 15:5

  In your time of ignorance and imperfect realization of your own power of Thought, you created negative forms and thought life into them. You created forms of death, sickness, sorrow, trouble and limitation and then you thought life into them. These forms became your circumstances.

   However nonexistent these forms were in themselves, to you they became realities that shadowed your otherwise clear path and caused you difficulties that limited your ability to be, do, and have more of the abundant life.

   Now that you know better, you must stop giving the negative an affirmative force which does not belong to it. Think: the negative is not-being, the absence of all that constitutes being. Left to itself, it remains in its own nothingness. The negative only assumes form and activity when you give these to it by your own Thought.

   This is the quintessential reason why you must control your Thought. It is the only instrument you have that works with the greatest certainty of the outcome—whether limitation, if you think limitation, or expansion, if you think expansion.

   Your Thought, transmuted into feeling, is the only magnet that can attract the conditions and circumstances you desire. Thought is a created thing, but Thought translated into feeling is a greater and more powerful thing.

   Your greatest challenge is to think unrestricted by your current circumstances. This does not mean ignoring your situation, but it does mean exercising your Thought beyond the bounds and limitations of your present circumstances.

   Think from your center where there are no boundaries or limitations. Think from Unity and Oneness with the All-Originating Spirit of God, and from the light—the mystery of Jesus—within you.

   You have the power to determine what your circumstances will be by simply speaking and affirming your desire. Once you have done this, you can rest assured that whatever must happen to make your desire manifest will happen. As the scripture says: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the LORD.” (Zechariah 4:6)

   When you give Thought to your desired circumstances, do not limit your Thought to specifics, but think more broadly. For example, rather than think about a specific house in a specific location that you want, think of houses in general that have the amenities and external locations that appeal to you.

   Think life in all its fullness, together with the perfect blend of conditions which include health, wealth, and a multitude of other good things.

   Think illumination, harmony, prosperity, joy, peace, happiness and love. Think the things and not this or that specific condition of them. By Universal Law, these things will form themselves into the shapes which best suit you.

On Feeling and Thought

    When you thoroughly realize the true nature of your relation to Affirmative Power, you will possess the key to the great secret. You can feel its presence in the innumerable life forms that you see all around you. You can feel it as the very fountain of life in yourself.

   Then one day the truth will finally dawn on you: the revelation that you can wield this Affirmative Power of life by the simple process of Thought. Once you fully realize this, you will begin to recognize how important it is for you to regulate and control your Thought.

   You ask yourself what this Thought process is and you discover that it is thinking Affirmative Force into forms which are the product of your own Thought. You mentally conceive the form and then you think life into it.

   This is always the nature of the creative process, no matter what the scale. It is the same process at the Universal Macrocosmic Mind Level and the individual microcosmic mind level.

   You are free to picture the mental machinery by which this is done in any way that satisfies your intellect. For it is the satisfaction of your intellect that will give you confidence in your own mental action, without which you can do nothing.

   However, the actual physical manifestation of your Thought is the result of something more than your mere intellectual understanding. That “something more” is your emotional conception of yourself. The great law is true: You cannot outperform your image of yourself—what you feel yourself to be at your core. Whom you feel yourself to be is the self which takes on the forms you create. This is why your Thought must be grounded in not only your intellect, but also in your emotions. You must feel the truth of what your intellect knows is true.

   If you do not feel at an emotional level, the truth of the knowledge you have acquired at the level of your intellect, then you will not be able to produce in yourself the condition which you desire to externalize.

   You cannot think into manifestation a different life than you actually realize in yourself. You cannot give what you do not have. Neither can you stop creating forms by your mental activity and think life into them. As you think, so you are, and so is the fruit you produce in your life. Thus, you cannot sit still and create nothing. Your mental machinery will  keep on creating forms, but it is up to you to determine what kind, quality, and feeling of form it will be.

Intention and Faith

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  Hebrews 11:1

  You will only be, do, and have what you intend to be, do, and have. So, your intention is the only vehicle that will take you to your highest and best self—the self that is always expanding, growing, moving higher and higher internally, so that your internal expansion manifests itself externally. What you achieve externally can never be more than what you have achieved internally.

   If you are shallow, mean, unloving and unforgiving on the inside, everything you achieve outside will eventually crumble and come to ruin. Your measure as a person is who you are inside of yourself, not whom you appear to be to other people.

   This means that you must first think yourself to become your highest and best self. That is, you must mentally and spiritually intend to be your highest and best self and persist in your intention. This is the essence of the Law of Cause and Effect. There is a cause—a moving invisible force—that creates every visible effect. And one of the most powerful invisible forces is your persistent intention.

   If you talk to anyone who has grown internally and achieved much externally, they will tell you that it was their intention that drove them forward. Now, intention is not the only invisible power that you need in life, but it is the foundation upon which your personal expansion must be built.

   Intention is your unwavering determination to be, do, have, achieve, or create something. But intention, by itself, is not nearly enough. Persistence must be joined to your intention to make it work. Persistence is overcoming the voices in your own head—and the external voices of your friends and family—that  tell you that you are crazy to believe that you can be, do, and have everything you were created to be, do, and have.

   Faith is the spiritual embodiment of the dream you have for yourself. It is the dream in your mind that exists in spiritual formation that you intend to make real in the material world. If you have no dream, you have no faith. And if you have no faith, you are doomed to be at the mercy of others until you do the work of creating a dream for yourself that will guide you to control your own destiny.

   That is why it is vitally important to discover what you actually want in life and then make the decision to take action to get it. Your decision to go after what you want is evidence that you have faith. The long and short of it is that without faith—without a dream or desire to be, do, or create something that is good—you will achieve nothing and create nothing.

   The power of faith is so great that without it nothing is possible for you. Without a dream that is yours, you will live an unfulfilled, boring, and meaningless life of servitude to others in order to get food to eat and a place to live.

   But if you spend the time necessary to discover what you most desire in life—your dream of the ideal life that would make you happy—then you will be full of faith, you will be filled with intention, and you will be on the path to personal transformation, expansion, and evolution.

Link Your Intelligence to Your Positive Volition

 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

    Because you are intelligent, you have the capacity within yourself to think yourself into whatever situation you desire. But you must be conscious of your thinking ability and then harness it in the direction of good, of truth, and of concern for others. In other words, you must use your consciousness of your thinking ability to direct your thoughts in ways that build up rather than tear down; that grow you up, rather than keep you the spoiled, selfish, and heartless children that so many adults have become.

   In this way, you press forward your own evolution to a higher level of intelligence and participate in the evolutionary scheme that will grow all humankind up out of selfishness, hatred and strife to selflessness, love, and peace. And all of this begins with your decision to link your Intelligent Thought to your Volition to create good for all and evil for none.

   This volition, this will, this decision to do justice, love mercy and follow the Golden Rule is proof positive of your higher intelligence and differentiates you from those of lower intelligence who see their control of wealth as a mandate to refuse aid to the poor, the homeless, and the last, least, and lost, of humankind.

   It is your enlightened self-awareness and use of positive volition, demonstrated by your disciplined approach to your own growth and development that makes clear that you have higher intelligence. This is what separates you from the madding crowd that refuses to think for themselves, to grow themselves, and to participate in the upward evolutionary development of all humankind. Ever-expanding individual intelligence and Cosmic Intelligence create positive first causes.

   The Law of Cause and Effect dictates that if you refuse to take responsibility for creating the causes that will become effects in your life, someone else will. If you allow someone else to decide the causes of the effects in your life, you are abdicating your personal responsibility to create your own future. So, faith—or having a dream that you want to realize in your life—is essential to having positive volition. Where there is no faith, there can be no Positive Volition to which your Intelligence can link.
